Privacy Policy

Effective May 6, 2026

Holloway Consumer Research LLC ("Holloway," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information.

This policy applies to information we collect through hollowayconsumerresearch.com, our application forms, our text and email communications, our Facebook and Instagram pages and direct messages, and our shopper portal.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and state of residence (collected during application)
  • Your PayPal email address (collected at approval, used to send reimbursements)
  • Your mailing address, where required by an assignment that ships to you
  • Your responses to research surveys
  • Screenshots and order confirmations you submit as proof of purchase
  • Any other information you choose to send us via email, text, or message

Information collected automatically

  • IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and pages visited on our website (via standard server logs and analytics)
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies, including a Meta (Facebook) Pixel that records page visits and form submissions for ad attribution

Information from third parties

  • If you contact us through Facebook Messenger or Instagram Direct Messages, we receive your public profile information (name, profile photo, public account details) from Meta as part of that conversation
  • If you submit a payment dispute, we may receive related information from PayPal

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Review your application and communicate the outcome
  • Assign products to you and provide instructions
  • Send you transactional updates about active assignments (purchase reminders, survey reminders, reimbursement confirmations)
  • Process reimbursements through PayPal
  • Aggregate and anonymize survey responses for delivery to our client brands
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
  • Optimize our advertising on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram)
  • Improve our website, our forms, and our shopper experience
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

With our service providers

Service providers process information on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect it:

  • ManyChat — chat automation platform (Facebook and Instagram messaging flows)
  • Brevo — email and SMS automation
  • PayPal — payment processing for reimbursements
  • Cloudflare — website hosting and security
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. — advertising and Facebook/Instagram messaging infrastructure
  • Google — analytics

With our client brands

We share survey responses in aggregated and anonymized form. We do not share your name, contact information, exact location, or any personally identifying detail with our clients unless you provide express written consent on a per-project basis (this is rare and always optional).

For legal reasons

We may disclose information to comply with subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process; to enforce our Terms of Service; to protect our rights, property, or safety; or in connection with the sale or transfer of our business.

4. Data retention

We retain your application information for as long as you are an active shopper and for a period of three (3) years after your last activity. Reimbursement records are retained for seven (7) years to comply with U.S. tax record-keeping requirements. Aggregated and anonymized survey data may be retained indefinitely.

You may request deletion of your information at any time by emailing contact@hollowayconsumerresearch.com. We will honor verified deletion requests within thirty (30) days, subject to legal requirements that may require us to retain certain records.

5. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies: required to operate the website and process forms
  • Analytics cookies: help us understand how visitors use the site (Google Analytics)
  • Advertising cookies: a Meta Pixel records page visits and conversions to attribute the effectiveness of our Facebook and Instagram advertising; we also use Meta's Conversions API to share server-side conversion data with Meta

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the website but will not affect your participation as a shopper.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights with respect to your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Opt out of certain types of processing
  • Receive a portable copy of your information

Residents of California have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we have collected and shared in the past twelve months. Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others) have analogous rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@hollowayconsumerresearch.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and a description of your request. We will verify your identity (typically by confirming the email address on file) and respond within forty-five (45) days.

7. Text messaging

If you provide a phone number and opt in to text messages, we use that number to send you transactional updates about your application and assignments. We do not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out; reply HELP for assistance.

8. Facebook and Instagram messaging

If you initiate a conversation with us through Facebook Messenger or Instagram Direct Messages — including by responding to one of our advertisements — Meta's own privacy policy governs the messaging infrastructure in addition to ours. Information you send us through those channels is received by us and used for the same purposes described above. You can stop receiving messages from us at any time by sending us a message saying so, or by blocking our page.

9. Data security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls limited to authorized personnel, and regular review of our service providers' security practices. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; we will notify affected individuals as required by law in the event of a data breach.

10. Children

Our service is not directed to and we do not knowingly collect information from individuals under the age of 18. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected information from a person under 18, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Material changes will be communicated by email to active shoppers and posted prominently on our website for thirty (30) days.
